The low frequency reader employed in the RFID pet door is available as a reference design. It has the following attributes.

FDX low frequency RFID reader, with firmware to demodulate ISO11784 tags.

High efficiency, with no upper limit on the antenna Q.

Outstanding range (coupling constants down to 0.02%).

Wide frequency range encompassing 134kHz and 125kHz.

Low BOM cost.

No requirement for separate tuning or high tolerance on the antenna.
